Born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota, I have always had a passion for the unique homes and neighborhoods that create the beautiful diadem that is the Twin Cities. I grew up on Saint Paul’s East Side with a mother who always loved taking the extra few minutes for the scenic route home. I got to study the historic homes that sparkled on the bluff adjacent to the Indian Mounds or the modern ornamental condos as we cut through downtown and I got to daydream about the type of people that lived in them. 

I grew up attending church and grade school in the historic Rondo and Grand neighborhoods in Saint Paul. As I got older, taking the city bus home with my brother, he would make stops for comic books downtown or off of University. While he hunted for his own treasures, I studied mine in the beautiful buildings and homes that told the story of the city. 

While I attended college at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, heading further west, I fell in love with the charm of the original buildings on the campus and the juxtaposition of the modern additions with their geometric and sculptural forms. It was fascinating and I couldn’t get enough. I continued to live and work all over the Minneapolis metro and suburbs, taking my casual study to a new city. Between Uptown and Tangletown, Victory and Kingfield, I got to know the unique emotions and cultures within the tessellated neighborhoods of the city and the beautiful architectural pockets that told the history of when each neighborhood came into play. 

For the last several years I have owned and operated In Full Bloom Salon in the heart of Uptown, building friends and relationships within and all around the Twin Cities and the surrounding unique communities. In 2018, we purchased our first home, and having a beautiful piece of land to call my own completely changed my life. Now I am the one taking the scenic route home with my children in the backseat, going out of the way to pass through various neighborhoods and parks, and telling them stories and the histories that I know of how the state came to be.
